Right Brain Left Brain


an example of the exercises we did in class.  Essential Questions: How does someone learn to see like an artist rather than a pattern thinker?”   Lesson Description: Students will generate a series of sketches that challenge their traditional way of thinking about drawing.

Right Brain Left Brain theory is from the book How to Draw With the Right Side of the Brain  by Betty Edwards. The book suggests that we need to rethink how we see from logical patterns into more shapes and colors and lines in order to be able see and draw more clearly.

When learning to draw we need to learn to see the contrast of the Stripes rather than simply the Tiger.
